In Teaching to Changes Lives, Howard Hendricks writes, ” Teaching that impacts is not head to head, but heart to heart.” Furthermore, our university’s educational philosophy emphasizes, ” We are convinced that love is the principal guiding force in education. We, teachers and students alike, pursue mutual growth through instruction by both words and deeds, in a spirit of love and respect for one another.” These two principles have always been at the core of my teaching. For example, one overseas Chinese student had a weak foundation in mathematics and science, so I proactively invited him to participate in a one-hour after-class Q&A session each week, guiding him step-by-step through problem-solving and helping him to re-understand the course content. After a semester of continu-ous support and effort, his academic performance gradually improved, and he successfully passed the course requirements under the same assessment standards.

《改變生命的教學》一書指出：「真正有影響力的教學，不是頭腦之間的傳遞，而是心與心的交流。」此外，本校教育理念強調：「我們確信『愛』是教育的主導力量，願以身教、言教的方式，秉持互愛互敬的態度，師生共同追求成長。」這兩項理念始終是我教學的核心。曾有一位僑生因數理基礎較薄弱，我便主動邀請他每週參加一小時的課後答問，循序漸進地引導解題思路，協助他重新理解課程內容。經過一學期持續陪伴與努力，他的學習表現逐漸進步，並在相同的評量標準下順利通過課程要求。
