Since joining the Center for General Education at Chung Yuan Christian University, I have deeply felt the center’s commitment to holistic education, systematically providing courses in the categories of nature, humanity, society, and self to students at Chung Yuan Christian University, nurturing their life education, as well as their scientific and humanistic cultivation. In class, I enjoy the opportunity to interact with students from various departments and learn about their mindsets and professional training. I also take the opportunity to encourage classmates to engage in interdisciplinary exchanges during class. As a teacher, I also value interdisciplinary dialogues with colleagues. Due to the nature of general education, I have the chance to learn about different disciplines’ knowledge and perspectives. I believe this is also the reason why my colleagues and I have collaborated to establish the Taoyuan Learning Community and led the ” Conversations Between Ecological Engineering and Art ” course. I am also grateful for the financial support from the Center for Teaching Excellence and the Center for Learning Enhancement, which has facilitated more diverse and lively course designs and implementations.
